Old School RuneScape has never had instanced raiding, until the addition of the Theatre of Blood and Chambers of Xeric. There are still many players who don’t know the mechanics of these raids, and that’s why we’ve taken the initiative to publish this guide and provide you with the necessary information required to survive such dreadful battles.
Chambers of Xeric
The Chambers of Xeric raid was released as an expansion to the already added region, known as Zeah. It is considered as the first instanced raid on the OSRS platform and requires numerous combinations of combat and skilling to progress further (just like Dungeoneering from RuneScape 3). The elements of this raid are completely randomized in every instance.
It’s recommended that you, along with your team of players have at least 100 combat levels with a good HP, along with 55 Farming and 78 Herblore before entering the raid. Making potions with the help of Farming and Herblore plays a vital role in raids like Chambers of Xeric.
Bosses

The boss has three rotational phases, which indicates which body part the team should focus on damage. You can make sure of the Dragon Warhammer’s special attack on the targeting body part to reduce its stats.
During the initial phase, the boss will attack with the rotations of his special attacks, which are Crystal Burst, Lightning Bolts, and Player Teleportation. The clenched hand is what you won’t be able to attack, so you must go for the other one.
The second phase is similar to the first one, and only the hand which was first clenched will be the targeted body part. You must use the special attack again on the hand because it is different from the one in the first phase.

Xarpus can heal himself while dealing poison damage, and that’s why you must avoid the poisoned tiles at all costs. The Maiden of Sugadinti occasionally attacks with magic directly at the tank and often throws blood spots that need to be dodged. During the fight, she may also spawn healers that need to be instantly killed as they appear. Pestilent Bloat can attack through its flies, and you must focus on killing them quickly. The falling corpses here can stun and damage you, which may end up spoiling your entire raid run. Nylocas Vasilias needs to be killed with different attack styles, and during this battle, there are various waves creatures that need to be cleared before approaching the boss itself. During the second phase, she will start to short blue-colored projectiles around the room, which must be dodged. Once the attack rotation is over, she will start to body slam the player when melee attacks are used on her. You can easily avoid it by moving a few tiles back and forth. If a purple Nycolas spawns out of the blue, attack it with a poisoned weapon, such as a Blowpipe to deal poison damage upon her.
In the final phase, she will turn into a spider-like creature and can attack you by shooting barbs and a blue-colored magic attack. Switch players accordingly during this phase or you’ll end up being dead. She has another powerful attack where you will have to quickly run towards a small safe spot to avoid it. Other than that, watch out for her web attacks, as it binds the players and causes constant damage.
Rewards

Even with these OSRS items, you need to ensure that you have high enough combat stats. We would recommend you to be around 80 at least, with well-equipped gear. That way, you can take him down without any issues. First, get your levels to 70 Strength, 75 Attack, and 80 Strength before moving any further.
Strategy
Similar to other demonic beasts, Skotizo is weak to Demonbane Weapons. Also, if you’re on a Slayer Task, you’ll notice that he is vulnerable to the Black Mask and Slayer Helmet perks.
It’s of no shock that you have to use Arclight while fighting him. You’ll also need to make sure that you have high Magic Defense items on you, such as Black Dragonhide armor.
Keep your Protect from Melee on at all times to encourage the boss to use Magic Attacks instead. Coming to the weapons, you need to have the best possible choice like the Twisted Bow. If that’s too expensive for you, opt for Dragon Warhammer for similar effects as Arclight.
The Fight
When the fight begins, Skotizo will activate the Awakened Altars which are dotted around the area. Each of these altars has 100 HP, which increases Defense and reduces damage upon activation.
Keep that in mind and focus on destroying them first. Also, when these altars are active make sure that you switch to Protect from Magic as Skotizo won’t use any melee attacks.
Stamina Potions will be really helpful while deactivating the altars, which is only if you have Arclight in your inventory. However, if you don’t have enough Stamina Potions, then don’t consider the Arclight method. A good alternative would be using the Toxic Blowpipe.
Another effective method is to wait until all the altars are spawned and then focus on bringing their HP down to the lowest. Finally, destroy them quickly one-by-one. Doing so, the altars will no longer be summoned by Skotizo.
When you’re halfway through the battle, the boss will summon either a Dark Ankou or 3 Reanimated Demons. Make sure you have Protect from Melee on during this phase. Keep your focus on Skotizo itself because the minions will just spawn back if you choose to kill them.
Drops
Well, for starters, the average drop value is about 167,000 OSRS Gold. Drops like Ashes and Clue Scrolls (Hard) are quite common, with a guaranteed drop of at least a single Ancient Shard. There are chances of receiving Uncut Dragonstone and Uncut Onyx too.
Other than that, there are chances of getting Rune Armor, Death Runes, and Soul Runes. Skotizo also drops resources like Grimy Snapdragon, Grimy Torstol, Runite Bars, Raw Anglerfish, and Adamantite Ore.
An item called Brimstone Keys is particularly obtained as a drop from this boss. However, it is worth mentioning that you can only get them if you kill Skotizo on a Konar Quo Maten Slayer task.
One of its rarest drops is the Jar of Darkness which can make your screen go temporarily black. You can add it to the Achievement Gallery display at your POH.

RuneScape is a Massive Multi-player Role Playing game that has been very popular in the last few years. With the recent addition of the grand exchange, RuneScape is a changed world. After discussing initial moneymaking strategies and a couple quests to jump-start the skills, I will deal with the next step, what I used to get my smithing from level 30 to level 48.
After raising about 50k from the aforementioned strategies, I did a little RuneScape market research. Iron ore cost 95 coins, coal 186, iron bars 216, and steel bars 606 coins. I believe iron bars are at 227gp and steel 616gp now. So I will crunch the current numbers.
The first formula, the cost of a steel bar is 80% coal and 20% iron ore. It takes two coals and one iron to make a steel bar. So out of the 467gp, 372gp is spent on coal. That is pretty close to eighty percent. Using that formula, I was able to calculate with accuracy how much material I would need to make the steel bars without a shortage of either coal or iron.
The second formula was this, if a steel bar sells for 616gp and it costs only 467gp to buy the raw materials (assuming I buy the iron rather than mine it) that’s a profit of almost 150gp per steel bar made. And since steel bars are in high demand from players who don’t want to take the time to smelt them, they should sell within a few minutes. Steel bars give 17.5 points of smithing experience to smelt and 37.5 to hammer out. So I’m basically trading 37.5 points of smithing experience for 616gp, which will buy 2.7 iron bars. Hammering out iron gives 25 points of smithing experience per bar. So if I take the 616gp and buy 2.7 iron bars, 25×2.7=67.5, for a net profit of 40 points of smithing experience per sold steel bar.
Eventually, I had 300k, which I invested in iron bars. I made chain bodies, plate legs, and plate bodies, which I withdrew in notes. Then I went to the armor shop just east of the center of Varrock, where I pulled off a short cut to sell them all for the maximum price.
The way the shop works, like any shop in RuneScape, is that it will pay a lot for items if none are in stock. As the stock increases, the shop will pay out less. I find it does not make sense to sell any if more than 11-13 of the armor is in stock. So what I do is log out and transfer to another RuneScape world. I look for RuneScape worlds with less people in them. When you sell a lot of an item in a RuneScape shop, the number in stock will decrease by one about once a minute. Basically, RuneScape eats the item. So if there are fewer players in a RuneScape world, there is less of a chance somebody cashed out on armor. I find that usually if one iron item is well stocked, it is plate bodies. Hence if I make 100 plate bodies, I will usually make 140 plate legs and 140 chain bodies. I sell until there is 11-13 of each in the shop’s player stock, then switch to another RuneScape world and wait the 25 seconds or so for RuneScape to transfer me. Usually, for every six to eight coins spent on bars, the armor will return a coin. But it’s better than no return at all.
So between the Knight’s sword quest and smelting steel, you can be well on your way to becoming an accomplished smith in RuneScape.
