OSRS Raids Guide

Old School RuneScape has never had instanced raiding, until the addition of the Theatre of Blood and Chambers of Xeric. There are still many players who don’t know the mechanics of these raids, and that’s why we’ve taken the initiative to publish this guide and provide you with the necessary information required to survive such dreadful battles.

Chambers of Xeric

The Chambers of Xeric raid was released as an expansion to the already added region, known as Zeah. It is considered as the first instanced raid on the OSRS platform and requires numerous combinations of combat and skilling to progress further (just like Dungeoneering from RuneScape 3). The elements of this raid are completely randomized in every instance.

It’s recommended that you, along with your team of players have at least 100 combat levels with a good HP, along with 55 Farming and 78 Herblore before entering the raid. Making potions with the help of Farming and Herblore plays a vital role in raids like Chambers of Xeric.

Bosses

Apart from Lizardman Shamans and Skeletal Mystics – There is Vasa Nistirio, who has the ability to teleport party members to different parts of the room, and his final form comes from an animated pile of rocks. Tekton cannot be harmed using range or magic, which means you can only use melee against him. It’s best that you focus on using the Dragon Warhammer’s special attack to make the fight a little easier. Vespula attacks with the ranged style that hits hard and causes poison, and that’s why it’s recommended that you equip a Serpentine Helm to avoid it. Vanguards are three mysterious creatures that can only be attacked through ranged, melee, or magic. Since coordination is the key to defeating them, the damage must be equally spread among the three. Ice Demons have a high magic level, and they attack using Ice Burst spells which causes immense damage. That’s why it’s best that you first dispel the Ice Storm and then only advance further with the fight. Muttadiles are crocodile-type mutants that attack using ranged and melee. A workable strategy is to stay close to them and attack them using melee, with your protection prayers active. Finally, there’s The Great Olm, which is a giant salamander that guards the last room of the raid, where the reward chest lies.

Recommended Setup

Full Void Equipment (All Three Helmets), Zomorakian Hasta/Abyssal Tentacle, Toxic Blowpipe/Twisted Bow, Trident of the Swamp, Amulet of Fury/Amulet of Torture, Ring of Suffering, Avernic Defender/Dragon Defender, Primordial Boots/Dragon Boots, and Ava’s Assembler.

The Great Olm

The boss has three rotational phases, which indicates which body part the team should focus on damage. You can make sure of the Dragon Warhammer’s special attack on the targeting body part to reduce its stats.

During the initial phase, the boss will attack with the rotations of his special attacks, which are Crystal Burst, Lightning Bolts, and Player Teleportation. The clenched hand is what you won’t be able to attack, so you must go for the other one.

The second phase is similar to the first one, and only the hand which was first clenched will be the targeted body part. You must use the special attack again on the hand because it is different from the one in the first phase.

During the third phase in this osrs cox guide, you will be able to attack both hands at the same time. This is where the Great Olm will start teleporting players around the room while dealing damage upon them and healing his left hand. You have to carefully coordinate during this phase.

During the final phase, only the head will remain for the osrs raids, and he’ll start using each one of his attacks now. Just watch out for the falling crystals as they cause a great deal of damage if you don’t carefully dodge them. Start focusing on DPS to bring him down before anyone of you fall.

Rare Rewards

You can make about 1 million RS Gold per hour from resource drops. However, you also have a chance of obtaining two rare drops; Twisted Bow, which costs about 1.1 billion OSRS GP, and Dragon Hunter Crossbow, which costs about 100 million GP. The chance to obtain a rare reward entirely depends upon the points you’ve earned during the raid instance.

Theatre of Blood

Having one of the hardest PVP content in the game, the Theatre of Blood was released in the year 2018 so that the dead content of Meiyerditch could be revived again. You will find six different bosses here and each one of them is extremely difficult to defeat.

Recommended Equipment

There’s no specific equipment choice for the Theatre of Blood, as you need to bring the best-in-slot equipment for each of the combat styles, and you must ensure that every member of the team is using hybrid or tribrid setups. A good suggestion and a common one would be the Twisted Bow, but it’s quite expensive so you can use an alternative.

Bosses

Xarpus can heal himself while dealing poison damage, and that’s why you must avoid the poisoned tiles at all costs. The Maiden of Sugadinti occasionally attacks with magic directly at the tank and often throws blood spots that need to be dodged. During the fight, she may also spawn healers that need to be instantly killed as they appear. Pestilent Bloat can attack through its flies, and you must focus on killing them quickly. The falling corpses here can stun and damage you, which may end up spoiling your entire raid run. Nylocas Vasilias needs to be killed with different attack styles, and during this battle, there are various waves creatures that need to be cleared before approaching the boss itself. When you fight against Sotetseg, you will have to first solve a complex tile puzzle and only then you’ll be able to attack him. Finally, the Verzik Vitur, who is the final boss of the Theatre of Blood raid and the most difficult one. She has multiple phases and turns into spider-like creatures to attack the party.

Verzik Vitur

During the first phase, you must hold off the incoming attacks by using pillars as a protection source. The best weapon to use here would be the Dawnbringer because other weapons cap damage and aren’t viable. Once the attack is over, she will fly off and attack by drop slamming upon the player, so make sure that you avoid it successfully. She can also call upon Nycolas to heal her, and if that happens, target them first and then move back to the main boss.

During the second phase, she will start to short blue-colored projectiles around the room, which must be dodged. Once the attack rotation is over, she will start to body slam the player when melee attacks are used on her. You can easily avoid it by moving a few tiles back and forth. If a purple Nycolas spawns out of the blue, attack it with a poisoned weapon, such as a Blowpipe to deal poison damage upon her.

In the final phase, she will turn into a spider-like creature and can attack you by shooting barbs and a blue-colored magic attack. Switch players accordingly during this phase or you’ll end up being dead. She has another powerful attack where you will have to quickly run towards a small safe spot to avoid it. Other than that, watch out for her web attacks, as it binds the players and causes constant damage.

Rewards

The supply drops in osrs raids are quite similar to the Chambers of Xeric guide (otherwise known as osrs cox guide), where you get common drops at the end of the run. However, this raid offers rare drops too that can be sold at a relatively high price. These rare drops include Scythe of Vitur, which costs about 1.3 billion GP, Ghrazi Rapier, which can be sold for 180 million GP, and the Sanguinesti Staff, which costs around 140 million GP.
